Check your email and your hometown newspaper online. Shirley's Bed and Breakfast has free wireless internet access. Look for local events in nearby Laramie, Wheatland, or Cheyenne. It's a gorgeous drive through the canyon in either direction.

Or, take a picnic lunch and walk along the Sybille Creek or explore the hills that backdrop the ranch. Four-wheelers are a quicker way to "head into the hills" and that's an option too! Don't forget your camera...you'll want to bring home some memories.
